We'll always have....Geneva

As I do well remember, I have never fallen in love with any man by what the Italians call "colpo di fulmine"... In contrast, I still keep this first-sight, permanent and incredibly irrational attachment to one city - Geneva. Each time I go there, I have the same feeling as ever.....home, my home.

My memories are so fresh since the first time I set my eyes on the Lake of Leman, that I even can't believe it was such a long time ago!  Then I follow the morning sun path on the water seen behind the flowers of Villa Barton, lunches at Cafe du Soleil, my girls' hot chocolate at Hotel d'Angleterre, the terrace with a view to the Jet d'Eau, writing my memos in the park with the Brandenburg concerts' CD, dinners at Lipp, crazy nights in smoky clubs at Carouge, mornings again with hangover and long, long never-ending working meetings. My serene loneliness amidst some of the most important decisions in my life....All these years squeezed in a short, repeatedly returning trailer...

Jorge Luis Borges, whose wife María Kodama I had the chance to meet, pronounced the best matching phrase about this special city:

"De toutes les villes du monde, de toutes les patries intimes qu'un homme cherche à mériter au cours de ses voyages, Genève me semble la plus propice au bonheur"

The other, slightly "informal" Geneva

And... where all these stories begin....
