I must recognize, I am quite late with my
Christmas message…It seems that along those two years, since my blog opened, this year the pre-holiday hustle has been on its highest levels…
On the other hand, I am blessed
with family and friends that make me feel the festivity with particular
intensity. Sometimes we are not aware of how lucky we are to be surrounded by
good and loyal people... My main character today is a friend of mine with breast cancer. A very special lady, Sol is her name (“sun”
in English), who is not just an interior designer married to a rich man…
Actually, she is far from this stereotype ! She woke up from her first surgery
singing “What a beautiful day!” of Michael Buble. Later on, she sent me a
selfie, posing as a model during her first chemotherapy ! Then, she talked to her 10
years old son about her condition and even let him touch her bald scalp after
her hair was gone. This friend of mine is not a superficial person at all…She
just decided to be honest with herself and to face the reality with spirit and
determination to survive. It was a long process, but she never gave up… Two months ago Sol was declared “clean”!
Why I am telling this story to
all the world public that could read my blog ? Probably, because, we all need
a positive story, something good that shows us the hope is hidden behind the
corner, that the reward for
our efforts might come, that our prayers, noble and unselfish, would be
answered and, contradicting a bit Saint Teresa of Avila, would not just bring more
tears….
With such serene hope for the
future, praying that peace and justice reach the suffering, persecuted and
oppressed
Merry Christmas !
Весела Коледа !
¡Feliz Navidad !
Joyeux Noël!
عيد ميلاد مجيد
